The Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co was set up in Regent Street in London in 1880, and remained there until their amalgamation with Garrard in 1952. They were smart retailers of jewellery and silverware etc, and this example is good quality throughout. Goldsmiths bought superior quality movements and cases.
As is quite usual there is no maker’s mark, and no indication of date.
The condition is very good – the dial is clean, but there is some tiny damage to the left glass. It has the original lever escapement and is a classic and elegant clock with a standard Corniche case.
